At Lehigh University, our Women’s Wrestling Team is dedicated to empowering young women to achieve their fullest potential both on and off the mat. We believe in the mantra “You can do Hard things, Big things, and Little things”, and this philosophy drives our commitment to developing successful, well-rounded individuals.
Our program nurtures athletes who exemplify moral behavior and sportsmanship, preparing them not only to compete at the highest levels but also to lead with integrity in all aspects of their lives. We are committed to helping our wrestlers realize their World and Olympic aspirations are attainable while pursuing an exceptional education at Lehigh. Here, you don’t have to choose between athletic excellence and academic achievement– you can excel in both!

Lehigh women’s wrestling hires new Head Coach with the hope of becoming a Division I program

In hopes of ascending from a club sport to a Division I program, the Lehigh women’s wrestling team brought new Head Coach Brazel Marquez to Lehigh from across the country. It is Coach Brazel’s mission to turn Lehigh from Club to Varsity by year 2026. The Lehigh Valley is filled with excitement and overflowed with support of the community and Administration at Lehigh. Big things to come here in the near future! Stay tuned on our progress! 

Lehigh Women’s Wrestling Club Building on Nationwide Momentum

The Lehigh Women’s Wrestling Club, formed in fall 2020, and made history in February wrestling in an exhibition match with Rutgers and Alvernia University. The women have had numerous exhibition matches since then in the home crowd of Grace Hall aka “The Snake Pit” during Princeton University dual meet. 
Since recent hire of Coach Brazel, the women’s team has had an increased schedule this season (2024) competing all over the East Coast: Columbia University, Rutgers, Drexel, Rider, DelVal, Harvard, West Point Army WC, Cedar Crest and already has a full college schedule lined up for the ’24-’25 Wrestling Season. 
Coach Brazel will be bringing in 17 new freshman to Lehigh to comprise a team of 27 total athletes for the 24-25 season. Athletes ranked from #1 to #20 in the country, Lehigh is moving onward and upward in the right direction to become a credible and competitive club as they move to transition to Varsity in plans by 2026.
