Coach Brazel Marquez is from Los Angeles, CA and is coming to Lehigh with 12 years of collegiate coaching experience. Prior to her new role here at Lehigh, she was coaching at Vanguard University in Newport Beach, CA along with being a Women’s Freestyle Coach at Titan Mercury Wrestling Club in Los Angeles. Before her move to LA, Brazel was previously in Pennsylvania where she was the Head Coach at Alvernia University for a short time, but primarily spent her PA time at Wyoming Seminary College Prep, where she coached numerous World Team Trials All Americans, multiple Pan-Am Champs for their age group. Brazel loved PA so much, she came back! Brazel’s first fulltime coaching job was in Franklin Springs, Georgia where she coached at NCAA D, Emmanuel College. While a couple seasons there, she was able to coach 15 National All Americans, 2 National Runner- Ups and 2 National Champions. Where Brazel started her coaching journey was at Menlo College in the Bay Area of Northern CA, where she was an assistant to Coach Joey Bareng, and Menlo College won 2 National Team Titles. Brazel also attended Menlo for her undergrad, where she received her degree in Psychology.

Brazel attended Northview HS in Covina, CA where her wrestling career took off. Some of Coach Brazel’s wrestling accomplishments include: 3x CA State Finalist & Champ, 3x National Finalist/ Champ, 4x National All American, ’09 Cadet World Team Member, ’10 Pan Am Team Member, 3x College National All American (NAIA/WCWA)
She has coached 75+ National All Americans/ Pan Am Members/ Jr. World Champions throughout her coaching lifetime thus far. She has also competed or coached multiple International Tours for Team USA, two most recent include: 2022 Team USA U15 Pan Am Team Coach & Champions (Medellin, Colombia) and 2023 Team USA U17 World Championship Team Coach & Silver place finish (Istanbul, Turkey)
Overall Coach B has coached at all levels: Youth, HS, Club, Senior level, College NCAA D2 & D3, NAIA, and will now also serve as a PA National Team Coach.
Coach Brazel is excited to bring an uproar of success to Lehigh as we work to move towards NCAA Varsity status for the Women’s Wrestling team. She has brought in 17 new members of the team for this 2024-2025 season ranking from #1 to #20 in the country. Be ready for some exciting women’s wrestling here in the Lehigh Valley. 

Some of Coach Brazel’s favorite hobbies include, fishing, outdoors, travelling, being with my dogs, watching live music, concerts, mentoring & training athletes, hunting, being with friends and family
